HPV Youth Action and Awareness Summit

OCTOBER 20, 2023

Knight Cancer Research Building AUDITORIUM

Awareness is the key to prevention

Human papillomavirus, or HPV, infections are estimated to cause nearly 36,000 cases of cancer every year in the United States. Some of these cancers can be deadly, and yet the conversation remains to be a stigmatized topic in our world today. The HPV Youth Action and Awareness Summit aims to increase awareness of HPV prevention among high school students across the Portland Metropolitan area through keynote speakers and workshop sessions designed to train students in taking steps to advocate for HPV prevention among their peers. This Summit seeks to not only normalize, but encourage the discussion surrounding HPV for the future generation in order to contribute to the global effort in eliminating HPV infections, and thus, the global cancer burden.
